Perera & Sons, Sri Lanka's foremost baker and caterer with a rich history dating back to 1902, sought to modernize its digital presence while honoring its storied legacy. This case study explores the comprehensive website revamp undertaken by CreativeHub to enhance Perera & Sons' online visibility, provide a seamless user experience, and preserve the brand's historical significance.

 

Challenges 

 

Despite its deep-rooted history and widespread recognition, Perera & Sons faced challenges with its outdated website, which did not reflect the company's modern growth or its continued commitment to quality. The primary challenges were:

 

  • Outdated website design that did not resonate with contemporary audiences.
  • Lack of mobile responsiveness, limiting access for a growing base of mobile users.
  • Inefficient content management system (CMS) that hindered timely updates and content management.

 

Website Re-engineering 

 

The revamp of the Perera & Sons website was a meticulous project focused on modernizing the design while preserving the brand’s historical narrative. Frontend Development

  • The website was developed using Bootstrap 4.3.1 for the UI framework, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly design across all devices. We also incorporated JavaScript libraries such as Skrollr, Retina.js, Isotope, Swiper, jQuery 1.12.4, and Axios 0.27.2 to enhance interactivity and visual appeal.

 

Backend Development

  • The backend was restructured using PHP 8.2.22 for server-side programming, hosted on Plesk. The content was managed centrally using Strapi, a headless CMS, allowing Perera & Sons to update their website with ease. The site was deployed on Nginx web servers, with DigitalOcean Spaces providing both CDN and IaaS solutions to ensure fast and reliable content delivery.

 

Analytics and Tag Management

  • We integrated Google Analytics GA4 to track user behavior and engagement, along with Google Tag Manager to streamline the management of various tags used on the website.

 

Innovative Digital Solutions
