Introduction 

The Sri Lankan Apparel Exporters Association (SLAEA), the pioneer association representing over 70% of the country's apparel exports, needed a digital transformation to reflect its significant role in the industry. This case study explores the comprehensive website revamp undertaken by CreativeHub to enhance SLAEA’s online presence, promote its affiliated partners, and position Sri Lanka as the premier ethical apparel sourcing destination globally.

Challenges 

Despite SLAEA's critical role in the Sri Lankan apparel industry, its website did not effectively communicate its influence, achievements, or the collaborative efforts of its affiliated partners. The primary challenges were:

• Outdated website design that did not resonate with contemporary industry standards.
• Lack of mobile responsiveness, limiting accessibility for users on various devices.

Website Re-engineering 

The website revamp for SLAEA focused on modernizing the design, improving functionality, and ensuring a seamless user experience. CreativeHub utilized a robust tech stack to achieve these objectives:

Frontend Development: The frontend was developed using Bootstrap 5.0.2 to ensure a modern, responsive design that delivers a consistent user experience across all devices. GSAP 3.2.4 was used to create smooth, engaging animations, enhancing the visual appeal of the site.

Backend Development: The backend was built using PHP 7.4.33, providing a stable and secure foundation for the website. The site was hosted on Plesk with Nginx web servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Content Management and CDN: The content was managed centrally, enabling SLAEA to keep their website up-to-date with ease. Cloudflare, jsDelivr, and cdnjs were utilized as CDNs to ensure fast and reliable content delivery, enhancing the user experience globally.

JavaScript Libraries: To further enhance the functionality and interactivity of the website, we integrated several JavaScript libraries, including Swiper for responsive sliders, Isotope for dynamic layouts, FancyBox 3.5.7 for image galleries, AOS for on-scroll animations, and jQuery 3.5.1 for general scripting.

Miscellaneous Enhancements: The website also featured PWA (Progressive Web App) capabilities for improved performance and Open Graph integration to enhance social media sharing.
